...Tuesdays with Julia...

...Patented Parboiled Rice...

...as with the curtains yesterday...it certainly is high time that I got around to cooking with Julia again...

...I say cooking...but I actually thought that this 'recipe' was sort of funny...but Julia was certainly always one to try out the new convenience foods of the era...

...so hop over to The Vegan Version for all of the details...ha...not many details to this one...
...but then I used the rice to make the recipe on the package...subbing Earth Balance for the butter...
...served it with some chicken seitan...
...and it was really good...

...what convenience food have you tried recently...

~Have a lovely day!

  2. There is a - fairly - new cookery writer called 'Deliciously Ella' who is a vegan. There are many of her recipes which are just so yummy. I regularly try new ones and the latest was beetroot carpaccio. Very thinly slice cooked beetroot and I used a potato peeler for as much as possible. Then mix a dressing, 2 tablespoons maple syrup, 2 tablespoons olive oil and 1 tablespoon cider vinegar. Drizzle the dressing over the beetroot and marinate for 10 to 15 minutes. Sprinkle with salt, it was/is so delicious.
